Melaka is a small state on the west coast of peninsular Malaysia, and visiting it is a unique experience due to the rich historical and cultural background from previous Portuguese, Dutch and British rule.
The city centre was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in July 2008, boasting architectural sites dating back more than 500 years. The centre is beautifully restored and maintained, and Melaka is not only a fascinating place for visitors with an interest in history, but also for guests who like to experience a bustling city which hosts many cultural sites, tasty food and friendly locals. There are also several attractions outside of Melaka city, which make it worth to stay for a while.
